Auto window tinting in Castle Rock
Auto Tint Castle Rock fits window film and vehicle wraps. Tell us what you drive and the look you are after, and we will take it from there.
Three things film changes
Window film is a thin layer bonded to the inside of the glass. What it does depends entirely on which film goes on, so it helps to separate the three effects before you choose.
How much light comes through
This is the number people mean by tint percentage. A lower number passes less visible light, so the glass reads darker from both sides. Colorado sets limits on this, and the limits differ by window.
How much heat comes through
Heat rejection is a separate property. Two films that look identical from the street can behave very differently in afternoon sun, which is why appearance alone is a poor way to pick.
How the car looks
Colour, reflectivity and how the film ages all change the finished result. Colorado prohibits a metallic or mirrored appearance on any window.
See the difference before you commit
Drag the control or pick a step. Only the side glass changes, the same way film only goes on the glass.

Factory glass
No film applied. This is the starting point most vehicles arrive in.
What this is not. This control changes screen opacity for illustration. It is not a measurement of light transmittance, it does not show heat rejection, and it is not a recommendation about what is legal on your vehicle. Use the Colorado rules for that, and ask us about a specific film.
Five questions worth settling first
Bring the answers to these and a quote becomes a short conversation rather than a guessing game.
Front side windows, rear side windows, the rear window and the windshield strip are treated differently by Colorado law, and they are often priced separately. Deciding the scope first keeps the rest of the conversation simple.
What to tell usWhich windows you want done, and whether the vehicle already has film on any of them.
These pull in different directions. A film chosen purely for appearance may do little about afternoon heat. A film chosen for heat control may look lighter than you expected. Naming the priority first prevents an expensive mismatch.
What to tell usRank them. The one at the top decides most of the recommendation.
Removing aged film is its own job. Adhesive that has baked on for years comes off slowly, and rear windows with defroster lines need particular care. This affects both the time and the quote, so it is worth flagging up front.
What to tell usWhether film is already fitted, and if it has started to bubble, fade or turn purple.
Colorado allows a darker result on the windows behind the driver, but only when the windshield and front side windows stay light enough. That trade is the single most important legal decision in a tint job.
What to tell usWhether you want the darkest legal result, or a consistent look across every window.
A car parked outside all day on the Front Range takes far more sun than one that lives in a garage. Altitude and long stretches of bright weather are hard on film, and they are a fair reason to spend more on the material than on the darkness.
What to tell usWhere it parks, roughly how far you drive, and which direction you face in traffic.
We have not published a package list here. The films we carry and what each one costs are best confirmed directly, so nothing on this page pretends to be a price. Send your details and we will answer against your actual vehicle.
What Colorado actually requires
Taken from the statute itself rather than a summary of a summary. Worth reading before you pick a darkness.
Read the full guide- Every window except the windshield
- Must allow at least 27 percent light transmittance.
- The windshield
- Must allow at least 70 percent light transmittance.
- The exception behind the driver
- Windows to the rear of the driver, including the rear window, may go below 27 percent, but only if the windshield and the front side windows both allow at least 70 percent.
- The windshield strip
- Non transparent material may be applied to the topmost part of the windshield, extending no more than four inches down from the top. It may not be red or amber.
- Appearance
- No window may carry material with a metallic or mirrored appearance.

Vehicle wraps
A wrap is a printed or coloured film applied over the paint. It changes how the vehicle looks and covers the original finish while it is on. People choose it for a colour change, for a business livery, or to keep factory paint underneath out of the weather.
It is a different job from window film. Different material, different preparation, and a much larger surface to get right.

What to have ready
None of this is complicated, and having it to hand means the first reply can be useful rather than a list of questions.
The vehicle
Year, make and model. Body style matters too, because a coupe, a wagon and a pickup have very different glass to work with.
The scope
Which windows you want done, or whether you are asking about a wrap instead. If you are not sure, say so and we will work through it.
The priority
Heat, glare, privacy or appearance. Whichever sits at the top changes the recommendation more than anything else on this list.
The history
Any film already on the vehicle, any glass that has been replaced, and anything about the car you would want an installer to know before starting.
Answers we can give you now
It is the share of visible light that passes through the glass with the film on it. Thirty five percent means roughly a third of the light gets through. Lower numbers look darker. The figure describes the finished combination of glass and film, not the film on its own, which is why the same film can measure differently on two cars.
Colorado allows it under one condition. The windows behind the driver may go below 27 percent only when the windshield and both front side windows still allow at least 70 percent. If you want dark rear glass, the front has to stay light.
Dyed films lose their colour under sustained sunlight. The dye breaks down unevenly and the grey shifts toward purple, often alongside bubbling where the adhesive has failed. It is a material limitation rather than an installation fault, and the fix is removal and replacement.
Metallic films have a known reputation for interfering with signals, and Colorado prohibits a metallic or mirrored appearance on any window regardless. Rear glass also carries defroster lines and sometimes an aerial, both of which need care during removal of old film. Mention anything embedded in your glass when you ask.
We have deliberately not printed a price list or a product range on this page. Both depend on your vehicle and on current stock, and a number published here would be out of date or wrong for your car. Send your details through the form and you will get an answer about your actual vehicle instead of a range.
